Nexign Reaffirms its Commitment to Southeast Asia with Expansion Plans

Nexign, a Business Support System (BSS) and the Internet of Things (IoT) platform provider, has reaffirmed its commitment to the Indian market by announcing its countrywide expansion plan. The expansion in India aims to complement simultaneous expansion across key geographies in the Southeast Asia region, as part of Nexign’s international growth strategy.
The regional expansion milestones include ambitious recruitment plans to triple its headcount and establish local offices in preparation for ongoing digitalisation and the upcoming launch of 5G networks.
This development comes at an opportune time for the Indian telecom market, which is expected to become 5G-ready sooner than its global peers. Top telecom companies in India are projected to have the technological capabilities to commence 5G operations in major urban centres by mid-2019. With the Department of Telecom (DoT) expected to complete bandwidth auction by August, the initial rollout of mass-oriented 5G services across the country can take place as soon as 2020[i].
Recent trends also point towards a massive surge in the demand for high-speed mobile internet in the country. In less than two years, India moved up from 155th position in mobile broadband penetration to become the biggest consumer of mobile data in the world[ii]. The overall data traffic from India also grew by 109% over 2018, with 4G driving 92% of this growth. It is also expected that 5G adoption will move beyond the end-consumer market and accelerate in the fields of manufacturing, public safety, connected homes and healthcare.
Nexign is perfectly poised to help traditional communications service providers (CSPs) capitalise on such lucrative digital transformation opportunities. With a complete suite of value-driven software products and services in areas of customer acquisition, network monetisation and customer service, Nexign will help consumers and telecom service providers across India – and the Southeast Asia region – jump on board the 5G wave.
“Increasingly, CSPs are tasked to manage a highly-complex eco-system and marketplace as they embark on more partnerships with Over-the-Top (OTT), social media providers and other industry players. Moreover, large-scale Internet of Things (IoT) connections present challenging commercial and technical conditions that CSPs in the region have to contend with. Nexign’s expertise is in the deployment of large and complex revenue management and customer care systems at a highly-competitive total cost of ownership. We are confident in helping CSPs capitalise on new capabilities and access new revenue streams as they embark on their digital transformation journey,” said Andrew Tan, Regional Director, Southeast Asia at Nexign.
